Contemplations ranging from issues of uniformity, borders, and boundaries to the range in the exhibition of powerful dynamics in the individual performers abilities acted as the jumping off point for the duet. Through hours of moving in a variety of improvisational scores, the performers and director went through an extensive refining and editing process to create a 12-minute work that reflected and extracted a range of characteristics from the performers. The original working title was Ding and Fling Duo. Later, the duet was integrated into ReMalia’s culminating MFA Concert piece all the little things that are nearly them.
Supported in part by a partnership between The Ohio State University Department of Dance and Movement Research at the Judson Church.
